(210.) Benjamin4 Pratt, only son of (70) Mary3 Washburn, (45) Philip2, (28) John1 (4th); born in Plympton, Massachusetts Colony, in 1707,[1] married Margaret5 Rickard, daughter of John4 and Sarah Rickard (3rd), of Plympton,[2] on 27 Feb. 1728/9 in Plympton.[3] She was born on 5 Apr. 1708 in Plympton,[4] a granddaughter of John3 and Mary3 (Cooke) Rickard (Jr.), of Plymouth,[5] and a great-granddaughter of Jacob2 and Damaris2 (Hopkins) Cooke.[6] They lived in Plympton.
Benjamin Pratt died testate in ca. 1756 or 1757. His will was dated in Plimpton on 7 Apr. 1755, in preparation for his being “bound out to ware [war] in the present expidition at Meness,” and was probated on 19 May 1757, witnessed by John Lucas, Samuel Lucas and Abigail Faunce. He mentioned his wife Margaret, sons Noah and Daniel Pratt, and daughters Mary Pratt, Margaret Pratt, and Jemima Pratt. His son Noah received a tract of land, and his son Daniel received the homestead, and was ordered to pay the legacies to his daughters and his debts, but his son Noah Pratt was named as his sole executor.[7] (See Appendix [A] for a full transcription of his will.) Margaret (Rickard) Pratt died sometime after 1755.
Benjamin Pratt and Margaret Rickard had children, order uncertain:
834 i Daniel5 Pratt, born say 1730 in Plympton, married Lydia5 Cobb, daughter of Ebenezer4 and Lydia (Stephens) Cobb (Jr.),[8] of Plymouth, on 23 Nov. 1759 in Plymouth.[9] She was born on 26 May 1730 in Plymouth,[10] a granddaughter of Ebenezer3 and Mercy3 (Holmes) Cobb.[11] They lived in Plymouth, MA, but no probate records were found for him in Plymouth Co., MA, and he was not a head of household in Plymouth Co., MA, in the 1790 federal census, and they may have moved to Pomfret, Windham Co., CT. A Daniel Pratt was head of household in Pomfret, CT, in the 1790 federal census.[12] She supposedly died in Pomfret, CT, and he supposedly died in 1819 in Cossayuna, Washington Co., NY.[13] They had children:
a. Lydia6 Pratt, born on 27 Aug. 1760 in Plymouth,[14] supposedly married Daniel Brown on 26 Jan. 1783 in Pomfret, CT.[15] He may have been the Daniel Brown living in Ashford, Windham Co., CT, in the 1790 federal census.[16]
b. Hopefull6 Pratt, a daughter, born on 25 Sept. 1761 in Plymouth,[17] supposedly married 1.) Almon Harris on 25 July 1782.[18] He apparently died soon after, he was not a head of household in Connecticut in the 1790 federal census, and she supposedly remarried to 2.) Jeremiah Durkee (Jr.), son of Jeremiah and Abigail (Adams) Durkee, of Hampton, CT, as his second wife, in ca. 1804.[19] He was born on 7 May 1754 in Hampton, CT, and died on 20 Oct. 1812 in Brooklyn, CT.[20] He was living in Hampton, Windham Co., CT, in the 1790 federal census.[21] Hopefull (Pratt) Durkee supposedly died in 1838.[22]
c. William6 Cobb Pratt, born on 21 Feb. 1764 in Plymouth,[23] supposedly married 1.) Sarah Newcomb in Oct. 1789 in Washington Co., NY.[24] She was born on 30 Nov. 1773 in Cossayuna, Washington Co., NY, or in Dutchess Co., NY,[25] and died in Jan. 1800 in Washington Co., NY.[26] He remarried to 2.) Sarah Morey in ca. 1802.[27] She was born on 15 Mar. 1783 in Whately, MA.[28] They were living in Greenwich, Washington Co., NY, in the 1820 federal census.[29] He died on 12 Feb. 1830 in Cossayuna, Greenwich twp, Washington Co., NY,[30] and Sarah (Morey) Pratt died on 23 Dec. 1849 in Cleveland, Cayahoga Co., OH.[31]
d. Daniel6 Pratt (Jr.), born on 12 Dec. 1765 in Plymouth,[32] supposedly married Elizabeth (Conkey) Safford in Salem, Washington Co., NY, and died on 10 Oct. 1852 in Allegheny, PA.[33]
e. Ruth Pratt, born on 30 Apr. 1768 in Plymouth,[34] marriage not found.
f. Joshua6 Pratt, born on 20 June 1770 in Plymouth,[35] supposedly married Theda Ingalls on 25 Dec. 1783
